ABOUT THIS TOUR
Rugged hills and riverside tranquility
This 6-day cycling adventure moves into the rugged western interior, where the flat central plains give way to forested mountains.
The route follows the upper reaches of the Kwai river valley, utilizing shaded trails and rural roads that connect remote agricultural outposts. The terrain is rolling and occasionally steep, demanding a steady effort through the dense jungle landscape.
The journey emphasizes the natural solitude of the northern Kanchanaburi mountains, away from the standard historical monuments.
This cycling tour features days ending at riverside lodges where the surrounding limestone cliffs provide a dramatic backdrop. It is a route designed for those who prefer the quiet of the forest and a more varied elevation profile.

We spend most of the ride cycling leisurely along the Khwae River before we climb from the foot to the top of Sri Nakarin Dam. This is a steep climb, but we soon have the lake in our sights as we begin to descend. We will be staying close to the lake, so bring along your swimming suit and enjoy dipping in the lake for your day's reward.

After crossing the lake by ferry, we hop back on our bikes and pedal further through the forest. If the season permits, we may pause to enjoy the refreshing cascade of a waterfall before we continue on our ride towards our accommodation for the night.

Today is our last riding day, and we embark on a journey towards the point where the Mae Klong River forms a vast delta before meeting the Gulf of Thailand. The area boasts of fertile soil, allowing local people to construct a network of canals. We can relish the rural scenery and observe the unhurried local way of life. Depending on the time of the year, we may also have the opportunity to admire various tropical fruits. To end our last ride of the trip, we reach Amphawa Floating Market where we refresh ourselves and indulge in a delectable riverside meal before preparing to return to Bangkok.
