About this tour

An out of the ordinary itinerary that takes you through the beautiful Thai countryside, over rolling hills and along beautiful lakes.

Day by day itinerary

Day 1

Bangkok - Kanchanaburi
40 kms / 260m total ascent

We pick you up from your hotel in Bangkok early morning and escape Bangkok's crazy traffic, heading to the provincial town of Kanchanaburi 3 hours away.

There we will fit our bikes, do any adjustments if needed, and go for a short introductory ride to get to know each other - for those who want. We may also visit the historical Bridge over the River Kwai, the War Museum and cemetery.

Day 2

Kanchanaburi – Si Sawat
92 kms / 990m total ascent

We spend most of the ride cycling leisurely along the Khwae River (which we’ll meet again on our last day under a different name) before we climb from the foot to the top of Sri Nakarin Dam. This is a steep climb, but we soon have the lake in our sights as we begin to descend.

We will be staying close to the lake, so bring along your swimming suit and enjoy dipping in the lake for your day’s reward.

Day 3

Si Sawat – Erawan National Park
101 kms / 1,410m total ascent

After relishing a tranquil breakfast by the lakeside, we head deeper into the National Park on a beautiful well-maintained, shady road that meanders up a hill, swaying from side to side. After crossing the lake by ferry, we hop back on our bikes and pedal further through the forest. If the season permits, we may pause to enjoy the refreshing cascade of a waterfall before we continue on our ride towards our accommodation for the night.

Day 4

Khwae Yai River
Rest day

Today is a free day so you can get those legs of your rested, they deserve it! Explore the surroundings by foot or bike, relax by the pool or the river, and why not treat yourself to a nice massage?

Day 5

Khwae Yai River – Suan Phueng
112 kms / 1,000m total ascent

From Kanchanaburi to Ratchaburi province where we will stay tonight is a splendid ride across varied landscapes.

Our journey starts with taking backroads on mostly flat terrain, cutting through serene countryside farms, traditional villages and rolling hills. We ride close to the Thai-Burmese border with views of rolling hills in the distance, before we start riding slightly uphill into Ratchaburi.

Day 6

Suan Phueng – Amphawa Floating Market – Bangkok
99 kms / 740m total ascent

Today is our last riding day, and we embark on a journey towards the point where the Mae Klong River forms a vast delta before meeting the Gulf of Thailand. The area boasts of fertile soil, allowing local people to construct a network of canals to facilitate both irrigation and transportation.

We can relish the rural scenery and observe the unhurried local way of life. Depending on the time of the year, we may also have the opportunity to admire various tropical fruits as they reach their maturity – the area is particularly well known for its pomelos and coconuts.

To end our last ride of the trip, we reach Amphawa Floating Market where we refresh ourselves and indulge in a delectable riverside meal before preparing to return to Bangkok.
